Aboriginal Storytelling Month 2018

Web Banner

For Aboriginal people, storytelling is both a gift, and a very old custom, sanctioned by the people to teach, entertain, and remember.

Throughout February, First Nations & Métis Storytellers and Elders visited libraries, schools, post-secondary institutions and community institution across Saskatchewan to share this gift.

The official launch was held February 1, 2018 at the North Battleford Public Library.

64 storytellers and Elders shared their stories in 345 locations across the province, reaching an audience of approximately 21,344.

Thank you to our generous sponsors, who make this annual event possible! Community Initiatives Fund, SaskCulture, Saskatchewan Arts Board, Government of Saskatchewan, SaskTel and Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.
